This CD contains Quakeworld demos and coverage from the Challenge Smackdown Season 2 Quakeworld league, which is an international QW league involving teams from Australia, Brazil, North America, North Europe, and South Europe. Also on the CD are resources which you will need to play the demos, and lots of other useful stuff.
If you're wondering what Quakeworld is or what to do with this CD, Quakeworld is a version of Quake, which is a multiplayer computer game made by id Software.
This CD contains hundreds of Demos of games between two teams (each team has 4-players), that you can watch on your computer (each demo is like a little 'movie'). You'll need a registered copy of Quake to play the demos, but fortunately you can pick up a copy very cheaply these days at most software retailers.
The demos have all been sorted and named to make the job of identifying them as easy as possible. What's more, because of the naming convention we have used, you will always be able to identify where they belong even after you have copied them into your /quake/qw directory. As well as watching the demos, you can use this CD to explore the extensive Coverage of Challenge Smackdown Season 2. Each of the Divisions (Australia, Brazil, North America, North Europe, and South Europe) contains match reports and archived news articles from Season 2.
If you browse through the match reports you will find that the majority include screenshots, match write-ups, and most importantly, links to available demos for each game played. It's a great way to check out which demos you want to spectate. You can also view lists of all participating teams (with links to their clan homepage and members) as well as "rankings" of the matches played.
