CG vs XX - zzjohnzz - 17/02/01

Last night the game was supposed to be played. There was a great deal of arguing about servers. The "quakeshit" server seemed very fair as cg had an 8-10 ping advantage there. Coupled with the fact that Stitch and Cano would not be playing, I cannot imagine why cg did not take this opportunity to play XX. Cg is used to playing with a 25-35 average ping, and at QS their average would be much higher. But still when XX isn't going play its 2 star players, it seems silly to pass up an opportunity to play them in their weakened state. Last season Cano missed some key games for XX. I am not sure why this happened, but it definitely hurt thier overall standings. For this game, BB from team CG didn't show up. He was there ready to play the night before but tonight no one knows what happened to him. CG only had 3, so XX decided to play them 3v3. They both agreed to play at the [5] server where CG had an average ping of 26 and XX was around 50. CG chose dm3, XX chose e1m2 and the random map would be e3m7. On dm3 XX got off to a great start and after 1 minute lead 8-3. After just 2 minutes, XX was up 17-3 and had the board locked. Jester had an rl at ra, Cano had an rl at ya, and clown was running quad after quad. CG kept getting pummeled until the 10 minute mark when they got the quad/pent but really couldnt control the board. Clown had 50 frags and XX won 141-55. CG never plays e1m2. So I expected this game to be a blow out in favor of XX. After 3 minutes XX was up 14-8. Then suddenly CG crept back into the game and even had control of the board. They were up 24-20 when one of CG was waiting for the YA. Stitch bunnied around the corner 0/100 and the CG dropped down and fired point blank into a wall killing himself. Stitch then took the YA/RL and got quad. This looked to have ended all hopes for CG but stitch died as soon as he got the quad. Then for some inexplicable reason, cg decided to ignore the YA for the rest of the game and that cost them dearly. After 9 minutes of play XX again took total control of the board and lead 59-28. XX just piled on the frags after that and won 125-55. Stitch had 53 for XX.
