What looked to be a night of pain and suffering turned out to be one of the most exciting nights in North American QW history. This tournament is heating up as the standings get closer and closer.

DG has been playing some inspired quake lately and beat ST 3-0. Scores were dm6 238-140, dm3 195-16, dm2 122-46. Filling in on a moments notice, CL was the guest star admin for the game so if you see him on ETG thank him for his hard work.

XX had to win 2 games tonight to slow GQ down for a playoff spot. GQ stormed out of the gates with a 401-278 victory on dm6. They played without Xoque, their star player. Then Xoque played the next 3 games and somehow XX won. Go figure! On DM3 XX were thier usual dominating selves winning 181-107. E3M7 was anyone's game but in the end XX pulled it out winning 147-137. GQ is known for their dm2 skills and XX is known for their love of the lava on that map. XX got both the lower rl's, anti couldn't secure the megahealth, and XX stormed to victory 275-89.

EG then showed up at 10pm on Sunday night, 2 hours before the deadline and said "umm who do we like play yo?" Admining from 9:30 pm to 4:17 am is not my idea of fun. The real five fiend made the whole night worthwhile. With GQ losing its second game, XX really needed a win to advance in the standings. EG had been stuck towards the bottom of the standings do to them missing a few games. I expected XX to win after seeing how well they played against GQ. I guess the only think to expect from the real five fiend and company is a battle. EG won dm6 fairly easily 252-139. Even the reappearance of Tang couldn't save XX on that level. E1M2 is a great map for XX but they had to fight tooth and nail to eek out a victory there 154-138. I guess EG was playing incredibly well and their solid performance was a sign of things to come. On dm2, EG went crazy, killing anything that moved and crushed 210-107. First XX beats GQ and then EG beats XX on that map. Weird stuff imho. On E3M7 both teams appeared to be lost. XX had just played the map but for the 1st 18 minutes EG hacked their way to a lead. Then XX locked the map with some outstanding play by cano and clown and pulled away by 30 frags at the end to win 146-119. Any demo on e3m7 will be a riot. You get to see some of the EG players get completely lost in the trap and near the green armor. Somehow this strategy baffled XX and they kept a lead for 18 minutes. DM3 would be an epic battle. DM3 is the home of the dm3 dynamic duo Cano and Clown. They eat, drink, sleep, and breathe dm3. Tang would be playing for XX also. I have been at the end of numerous beatings on dm3 from these players. XX would be the heavy favorites. EG had skitter who is known in NA QW circles at the boxman. He owns the rl box. Sometimes his teammates have to beg him to let them in the small contained area. Like a dog that pisses all over the place to mark his territory, skiter is no where happier than locked in his rancid box, defending the rl. He did a good job for the most part but with 3 minutes to go EG was down and down big. When u r down big who do you always look of as the initiator of huge comebacks? No its not Joe Montanna or John Elway, everyone knows that the guy that can save a team from the jaws of deafeat (and the jaws of fuman perhaps) is [5]FienD. Fiend killed many XX players to get the 3 minute Quad and then killed, sliced, diced, minced, chewed up and spit out XX. If there is any demo to get from SD2, Fiend DM3 is the demo to see. This is ownage in its purest form, in fact it was PURE UNADULTERATED TOBINATION. I talked to fiend after the game and he said "well with 3 minutes to go we were down by 30 and then I thought what would I do if I were on dm6 and it had a quad. The walls turned from browing orange to blue, everything kinda slowed down, then I saw the spirit of Xyster telling me to use the force. I knew I wouldn't die from that point on." EG wins 141-122 in a huge upset do to some spectacular play by Fiend.

Could EG pull another upset and beat AG? One word: Haze. GG. AG wins 3-0 as the master returns like Michael Jordan from an early retirement. The scores were 338-237 on dm6, 354-19 on dm2, and 171-113 on e1m2.
