The game the whole qw scene had been waitung for, Flaming Fist versus Euthanasia was supposed to take place until last sunday. As all of you know by now it did not take place. The reason is that FF refused to play without their topteam, who were either not able to play because of absence or not willing because celebrating midsummer holiday. They also said that they did not want to loose their winning streak. Some people say that the season took too long but FF faced a similar situation before the semifinal and promised to have a team ready for the final.
The SD2 north eu final is a once in a lifetime opportunity but Flaming Fist decided to put it down. I am not very fond of what happened but i accepted it while also changing my opinion about this clan.
FF have already won everything there was to win in qw in the last 2 years so it won't hurt them very much. Although it is a lame end of the season it was still great. The people who suffer the most from it are Euthanasia and all the people out there who had been expecting one of the best matches of all time. It is not very likely that we will ever see this matchup again. To be honest i doubt that we will see Flaming Fist playing qw in the same lineup after the summer because other things are obviously more important to their players. Euthanasia will change as well, some of their top players will found a new clan very soon.
So the season ends without a real winner. Winning without a fight is not very satisfying for Euthanasia indeed. I wanted to have some sort of final game for the season though. Thus i suggested to let E play versus The Viper Squad, who looking back from today should have had gotten a walkover during the semifinal, in what could be called an exhibition game. Both teams agreed to play each other in general but a date has not been decided upon, yet. Of course whatever the outcome will be some people will say that the winner is not the real winner because FF were the clan to be beaten but it is they who decided to step back from the tournament. The majority, including me, will be happy to see a game though which will mark the end of the season so that we can finally let it back behind us and look forward to SD3.
The date for the game between E and TVS will be announced as soon as both teams have agreed on something.
