Reports and other stuff - Wart - 26/02/01

As you might have noticed from the "latest Smackdown updates" section just below the logo, we've followed the North Europe division by getting a dedicated Reports page. We should have a link on the left pretty soon but you can access it either through the link I just posted or by clicking on "AU - Reports" in the "latest Smackdown updates" section.
We're getting closer to determining which 3 teams in each group go through to the finals. In Group 1 the teams have just about been decided with Foad and Rb looking good, while Azul's victories over Lies and AoK puts them in a good position. AoK would need to upset either Foad or Rb (or both) to overtake Azul. Group 2 is a bit more interesting even though FA and iC would appear to have the top two spots already. The fight for third position is between List and THDM and from what I've seen of both teams, it'll be quite a match.
The finals series will use a round robin format, just like the group games, with the 6 teams playing each other once. This means that it will take a bit of time compared to a normal elimination format but there will be plenty of big matches each week. The first set of games will be -
1st team in group 1 vs 3rd team in group 2 2nd team in group 1 vs 2nd team in group 2 3rd team in group 1 vs 1st team in group 2
The matches after these will be determined at the time. When every game has been played the two teams with the best record in the finals will face each other in the Grand Final which will be best of 5 maps with each map in the Smackdown selection only being played once. This means that if it goes to a 5th map then each of dm2, dm3, dm6, e1m2 and e3m7 will be played...otherwise if a team wins in 3 map then it might only be dm3, dm2 and e1m2 (depending on what they choose). The next map is chosen by the team who lost the map that was just played, not who is losing in the Grand Final overall. Please leave a comment if any of this doesn't make sense.
