 Round 1 - Wart
DM2 - Claustrophobolis (Fallen Angels's choice)

ReportAll the months of waiting were about to come to an end now that a date had been found which was good for both teams. There was slight delay when Harlsom went around to Spice's house to play after his connection chose a great time to die. When everyone was ready to go FA selected dm2 as their map...they were given a great start with Harlsom making the most of the first quad. Even with rj and Tim getting the next few quads FA were able to keep their noses in front on the scoreboard with Harlsom the clear leader. The match was in the balance for most of the first half as FA's lead hovered around the 10-15 frag mark...they put an end to Rb's quad running but they were unable to break away themselves. That was until 12 minutes to go which was when FA went from 9 to 27 frags ahead in the space of a minute and this set the tone for the rest of the match. Rb didn't get a chance to mount a comeback once FA were in control...the final score shows how well FA were able to rack up the frags considering they was only up by 9 when the run began.

Round 2 - Wart
DM6 - The Dark Place (Reborn's choice)

Reportt was a bit of a surprise when Rb chose dm6 for their map but as soon as the action started FA were already building a lead. This time it was Spice with the early frags and it wasn't long before the others got going as well...Rb were left behind almost from the start. There wasn't much change in the trend as the map went on, the gap widened each minute and there didn't seem to be much Rb could do to turn things around. This ended up being another comfortable victory for FA which left Rb to decide on the next map.

Round 3 - Wart
E1M2 - Castle of the Damned (Reborn's choice)

ReportThere was potential for some good teamplay on this map and both teams didn't disappoint. Early on it looked as if this would be another one-sided map due to FA getting the better start again, they got in front by about 30-40 frags for a while, but Rb didn't let them get away like before. Both teams seemed to get their share of the quad though most were short lived so no one was really able to go on a rampage. Each of the areas were contested throughout the match as FA tried to make the most of their advantage while Rb were attempting to get players tanked up for a comeback. The latter was certainly possible at the 10 minute mark when the margin was just over 20 frags...there wasn't much difference between the player at the top of the scoreboard and the one at the bottom. The lead went out to over 30 frags again but with 5 minutes to go Rb had brought it back down to 20...though was there enough time to catch up? Rb kept attacking and gave themselves every chance to win, but FA made sure that they were the ones making use of the quad right at the end. It was looking as if Rb just needed time to bridge the gap as they had hung on all the way...I guess this gives an indication as to how hard it is to turn the tables on FA. Well done to both teams for a nice close map, and congratulations to FA for winning the final once again.
